For 50ft+ monohulls and 45ft+ multihulls, what's included in the $1 per nautical mile yacht delivery fee?
Everything except the cost of fuel and travel.
Included are:
- Verifying the proper equipment for a safe passage.
- Provisioning
- Professional and careful delivery by a USCG licensed captain (and certified US Sailing instructor).
- If requested, daily updates by satellite phone
- Independent of the existing communications capabilities on the boat, we bring two independent satellite links: Iridium GO and Iridium Extreme which allow access to detailed marine weather forecasts any time and anywhere in the world. We also bring a satellite PLB and a MOB AIS beacon.
- Safer navigation at night and engine thermal monitoring: we bring a marine handheld infrared/thermal camera.
- GPS backup: we bring detailed paper nautical charts for the entire passage and sextant.
- Capability to diagnose, maintain and repair: we bring a full set of mechanical and electrical tools including 133-piece tool kit, laser IR thermometer, clamp-on multimeter, carbon monoxide detector, torque wrenches, feeler gauges, etc.
- Docking and mooring fees. Customs and immigration fees. Expenses due to weather delays. Travel time to or from the boat.
- When necessary, filtration of all fuel added to the tank using a funnel filter.
- Return of the boat in the same condition it was received
Not included:
- A deposit for fuel used during the passage
- Docking fees during repairs.
- If applicable: Panama Canal expenses.
